About
Local Data Manager
|
In
light of the substantial overlap between GODAE requirements
for data distribution and those of the Cooperative Opportunity
for NCEP Data Using Internet data distribution Technology
(CONDUIT) program, it made sense to expand the role of the
USGODAE Data Server to address CONDUIT. In this capacity,
the server will make fields from the Navy Operational Global
Atmospheric Prediction System (NOGAPS) and Coupled Ocean Atmosphere
Mesoscale Prediction System (COAMPS) available to the
research community using Unidata Local Data Manager (LDM)
software to the Internet Data Distribution (IDD) system.
These data streams are provided using the Unidata LDM/IDD
distribution system to create a timely and reliable delivery
of products for research and education. While every attempt
is made to ensure high quality data delivery, all users
should note that this is not to be
considered "Operational" data since 24 hour support
is not possible. These data feeds are designed to be flexible
to meet the needs of the user community, and therefore contents
may change as necessary to reflect the requirements of the
recipients. More information on the CONDUIT cooperative
effort between the US Weather Research Program (USWRP),
NOAA's National Weather Service (NWS) and National Center
for Environmental Prediction (NCEP), NASA-Goddard Space
Flight Center, and Unidata to expand the distribution
of model data via the IDD.
For general information, or to request access to the USGODAE
LDM feed, contact USGODAE through the
CONTACT FORM.
NOTICE:
All of the FNMOC CAGIPS downloaded model data on USGODAE is now being
provided to UNIDATA and avaiable via the LDM/IDD.
Users that wish to receive this data via LDM should contact Mr. Jeff Weber
(jweber@unidata.ucar.edu) of UNIDATA.
Additonally, real-time statistics of sites that are receiving this data can
be found at:
